The
original bathroom shower needed a serious
makeover. A typical 80's tiled shower, it
was cramped, dark, claustrophobic and those
were it's good points! The customers wanted
to open things up, update the shower and was
open to ideas. What we proposed was to
remove the wall to the left and tear out the
old 4x4 inch tiles and poured in place
concrete shower pan, so that a new modern
acrylic shower pan 30"x48" could
be installed. Four foot by-pass shower doors
would replace the twenty inch swing door and
open up the entire shower.

The plans

After
A
new overhead and water-proof light was installed
in the shower to add lighting and make sure the
bathroom didn't fall back into any of it's dark
and dingy previous habits. A new single handle
Moen shower valve with anti-scald protection also
replaced the old two handle shower faucets. A nice
rounded soffit over the shower was created to make
a nice smooth and purposeful transition in the
ceiling. A small shower seat was a desired option
and we were able to create one just big enough for
shaving, yet not too big where it would get in the
way of showering.

New tile flooring replace the carpeted floor, and
tile wainscoting was applied half-way up the
walls. Texturing to blend all the old and new
walls and some fresh paint finished the project.
