This powder room originally had all the typical
plain-Jane builder grade features that make for a
boring, sterile and impersonal bathroom. The
customer didn't like the fact that all the
bathroom their guests all had to use was so
impersonal and wanted to explore creating a more
upscale and inviting design.
The old oak vanity was the central feature of the
old room, and it dominated and dictated the entire
style of the room. This was replaced with a Kohler
pedestal sink and a designer faucet, which changed
the entire feel of the room and opened up a small
space creating the visual impact of a much larger
room. Porcelain tile with tile base boards replace
the carpeted floor. New lighting, a designer
mirror replacing the old, flat, glued on the wall
mirror and some updating of towel racks and
fixtures added the finishing touches for a more
open, elegant and inviting powder room.
