When Pat contact us she told us if
anybody had an ugly bathroom that
needed our help it was her. When we
went to visit pat's home her
bathroom wasn't so much ugly, as it
was totally dysfunctional. It seems
that at some point her home had been
remodeled, but the layout that they
did when they moved walls around was
extremely awkward.
Her master bathroom was actually at
the end of a long L, it was just a
small shower, a toilet and a small
vanity all in a small 6x6 room. You
passed through a big room with
nothing in it between her bedroom
and the bathroom to get to it. Her
closet was a cut-up mess of walls so
awkward it was hard to even hang
clothes in it.

Here
you can see the original
layout with the small
bathroom all the way in
the back of the house,
just a small shower,
toilet and vanity stuffed
in a small room.
Our plan was to totally
gut out this existing
layout and start over. The
old bathroom would become
where the new walk in
closet would sit, with a
built in ironing board
hidden in the wall, new
lighting to get rid of the
dark and dingy feeling and
plenty of new clothes
storage.
The L shape would now work
much better. We would move
the master bathroom into
the corner, placing a
jetted Jacuzzi tub in the
corner and a stand alone
shower to the right.
A new arched wall would be
built to separate the
bedroom from the new
master bathroom, with a
larger vanity placed
against this wall.
The spot where the old
closet was located was
going to be turned into a
toilet room.
As you can see the new
layout makes sense and it
feels right, it delivers a
great 4 piece bathroom
without any crampedness and gives the customer a
useable and much larger
master closet. |

You can see the
extensive re-plumbing
that was required for
this job. Because of
the quality of our
plumbers all of the
access to the plumbing
was done from above,
eliminating the need
to open up the
ceilings of the two
finished rooms below.
We wanted it done this
way (even though it
made the plumbing work
harder) because not only did
it save the customer
money, but it allowed
us to contain the
construction to the
upstairs section of
the house and allowed
a more normal life for
the homeowner to
continue in the
downstairs of the
house. |

The
framing for the new
bathtub is in place,
you can see more of
the chases opened up
in the floor for
running new plumbing
lines. New tempered
glass has been
installed in the
windows to meet
current codes.
