You
can see from the before picture what a mess this
master bathroom was. It is what we call a builder
grade bathroom, meaning it is the original
bathroom installed by the builder. Unfortunately,
most builders have more of a concern with using
cheaper and generic materials than doing something
nice. The only way to really make a master-piece
out of this space was to tear it out completely
and start over.
A
complete makeover was accomplished by tearing out
all the old, ugly cabinets mirrors and tile and
replacing it with new fixtures, sinks and a solid
wood double vanity. Custom tile was set on the
floors, counters and in the shower. New lighting,
and a smart ventilation system was installed. You
can see the old style full length mirrors were
replaced with new individual designer mirrors over
each sink. The old oak vanities were replaced with
new high-quality solid cherry. Hidden electrical
cords were added behind the vanity drawers to
allow for curling irons and hair dryers to remain
plugged in but stored away, freeing up and
reducing clutter on the counter tops.
