Marble Tile Master Bathroom

The Before :
An interesting, but dangerous sunken cast iron bathtub. Nothing is more dangerous then something like this in a bathroom. The danger and tragedy of the trip hazard/drowning caused by this bathtub especially to a small child is un-thinkable. The homeowner related many near misses that he and his wife have had over the years of stepping back from the vanities which are directly across from the tub and falling backwards by tripping on the rim of this tub.

The After: The sunken bathtub was removed and a new raised bathtub deck was installed. This bathtub is much larger than the original about a foot longer, 6 inches wider and 5 inches deeper, all allowing for a better bathing/spa experience.

The Shower :  The old gold framed shower glass was replace with a new Euro style frameless glass surround. We enlarged the shower experience by building in a bench at the end of the bathtub deck and enclosed it with the glass.

The Shower Interior: Hand made triangular shelves were constructed and mounted in the corner of the shower. A new dual function shower head was installed. This is a special rainmaker shower head that also can be switched from the soft/gentle feeling of the rainmaker function to the forcefulness of a normal shower head by flipping the lever you can see on the side of the head. Rainmakers are great for that gentle spa feeling but not so great at everyday utilitarian, get the soap out of my hair that we need in a normal shower head. This one can do both.

Counter Top :  A matching slab of marble that matches the marble tiles used in the floor, shower and bathtub was chosen for the counter tops. Many customers like the look of the matching tile and slab which is usually an option when we are doing granite or marble tiles.  Another nice upgrade was the addition of the Ogee detail on the top of the back splash instead of the normal square cut.
