Len and Kathy wanted to
update their master bathroom. On their wish list
for the project was upgrading the quality of all
the materials from the cabinetry to the counter
tops, to fixtures and tile, increasing the useable
storage in the new cabinets, enlarging and
modernizing the shower, upgrading from a soaking
tub to an air bath, heated flooring and some wall
layout changes to make better use of their walk-in
closet as well as the master bathroom itself.

The
old cabinets - oak with a make-up area that was
never used, tile counter tops, wall to wall flat
mirrors
Demo
of the old cabinetry, mirrors and lighting is
complete

The
new cabinets - stained cognac maple, with many
more draws, a counter top hutch, granite counter
tops, undermount sinks and a suite of new
fixtures, including new lighting and mirrors. The
opening in the wall on the left side of the
cabinets will hold a stained glass window that Len
is making himself

The
old shower has been removed and the new plumbing
starting to be installed
The
original bathtub

The
new deck for the new bathtub has been built and
the rough-in of the new bathtub drain and faucets
being installed. If you look closely right behind
the plumbers lit torch you can see where the
doorway to the walk-in closet has been reframed,
moving it over to the right about 12 inches to
make room for the new bathtub position.

The
final bathtub after tiling is complete. The pump
access is through the tiled panel on the small end
of the bathtub. After inspections were passed the
custom tiled panel was installed and caulked into
place.
