The
original bathroom was about 30 years old and was
showing it's age. Flat-faced, built-in-place
vanity cabinets and storage combined with a old
style Formica counter top, a flat mirror, carpeted
floor and old style hanging light fixtures.
To modernize it, a new 60 inch oak vanity with
filler strips on each side was installed. This new
vanity configuration allowed for better storage
with the addition of 2 banks of drawers. The
customer selected a more natural looking Formica
counter top, this time including a coved
back-splash and two side splashes. You may notice
that the sink was off-center before, we centered
the new sink for a more pleasing design. New
lighting and a large medicine cabinet with
tri-fold mirror doors was installed.
The old carpet was removed and new ceramic tile
flooring was installed. Details make the project
so even new towel racks and base molding got
installed. The walls were re-textured with our
modified knock down finish and given a new coat of
paint. You can't see it but the bathtub was
refinished and the tub surround and tub valve were
replaced, as well as the old toilet that had lived
past its prime.
